This story tells of demons and the hold that they have over the human heart.
The paperback is out. All three parts of The Constant Companion Tales are now one print book called The Keeper of My Kin.
The e-books use vivid imagery for impact. Zarina Holmes’s creative direction ensures that you get a very good idea where each story is taking you just by looking at the online book covers alone.
With this print book, however, I offer you words. Words that I hope will fill you with intrigue, wonder – hopefully disgust – of my universe of accidental demons and unintentional bad guys. In this fiction of wartime horror, there’s no good or bad person. Just very bad situations.

If you find the story believable, it’s because it’s loosely inspired by true events in history.
There’ll be a lot of demons, slashings and gore – everything you can expect to warm your blood this coming autumn and winter. You get to learn a thing or two about colonial war history as well.
If you find the story believable, it’s because it’s loosely inspired by true events in history. Some of the atrocities and betrayals actually happened. I used them to evoke the feeling of disgust towards such inhumane acts. I moulded the antagonists into sublime demonic characters. Some are inspired by wrathful spirits and deities mentioned in folklore.
I don’t like demons but I acknowledge their existence and the hold that they have over the human heart.

For the tales, I went to Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, I visited the glorious ruins of Ayutthaya, and I observed many Remembrance Day parades in London. But my horror story is nothing but a fantasy.
I hope you enjoy it.
