Also known as Raja Bersiong. A descendant of Merong Mahawangsa, King Ong Maha Perita Deria once ruled Langkasuka, now known as the state of Kedah. A palace cook, in her haste, cut her finger whilst preparing spinach for the king’s meal. She had it served to the king, anyway. The king, loving the taste of human blood, turned to human sacrifice and feasted on his victims’ blood. He was later ousted and his infant son elevated to the throne to become the new king. One of the Fanged King’s kinsmen was King Ganji Sarjuna, the founder of Gangga Negara (100 CE-1000 CE), a district under the state of Perak.
