A ghostly guardian that protects a Buddhist temple in Yap Village. We can never be certain if he is an old spirit of the land that has been adopted by the newcomers of the 1800s, or another Constant Companion who happens to be of this spiritual persuasion. Like humans, they do have their faiths, though it’s been warned that unlike humans, all Constant Companions love their tricks, covenants and dangerous bargains. This one is no exception. In 1985, he was known because he possessed a female recruit of the Malaysian Volunteer Corps Department who took photos of the temple without the monks’ permission. This guardian will only be stirred if he finds the temple to be under threat.
