The sole survivor of an ambush on Force 136 by the Japanese. He is of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders regiment. The regiment faced massive defeat in 1941. As they escaped the Japanese, the soldiers had to abandon injured colleagues as they fled southward towards Singapore. The remnants who escaped by boat to Singapore were later captured after the defeat of the British during the intense Battle of Singapore. The Argyll, sensing defeat in Singapore, chose to remain in the jungle where he joined Force 136. He isn’t sure if he was saved by Wak Ahmad or someone (or something) else when he escaped his pursuers. It was all a blur. Together with the Raden family, they hide in the jungle during the war.
